The Story of Five Pines

Five Pines Coastal Cottage takes its name from the history and lore of the Sea Rose property. When the original roadside motel was built in the 1950s, America was in the midst of a new era of travel. Families were exploring the country by car, and coastal towns like Ogunquit became favorite summer destinations. Along highways such as Route 1, small roadside motels began appearing to welcome travelers making their way up the Maine coast. The Sea Rose was one of those places - a cluster of simple cottages created for guests arriving with suitcases in hand and sand already on their shoes.

As the story goes, prior the motel, five tall pine trees stood on this parcel of land. Over the years the property changed, but the name honors those original pines and the quiet coastal character they represented.

Today, Five Pines Coastal Cottage carries the spirit of the land and history forward: a relaxing place to settle in, slow down, and enjoy the charm of Ogunquit - hosted with the care and attention to details that make for a memorable stay.
